Two Dogs and a Cat Were Locked in Filthy Rooms and Left to Starve in an Abandoned Mississippi Home

In Petal, Mississippi, three helpless animals were discovered locked away inside an abandoned home, hidden from the world and slowly wasting away. Two dogs and a cat had each been sealed into separate rooms, with no way out and no one coming to help.

The conditions were horrifying. The rooms were smeared with fecal matter, scattered with old food and trash, and the entire house reeked so strongly of ammonia that it burned the air. These animals had been forced to live, breathe, and suffer in their own filth.

One of them, a mastiff that should have weighed around 170 pounds, was found reduced to skin and bones. Deputies said the animals had been trapped and abandoned in that home for roughly two months, left without proper food or care as their bodies wasted away.

What makes this even harder to bear is that the woman who owned the property knowingly left these animals behind when she vacated the house. She took another animal with her, yet chose to lock these three inside and walk away, leaving them to starve in the dark.

Sign now if you agree that what happened to these animals was wrong, and that whoever abandoned them like this should never be allowed to keep animals again.
