Pet Cats Are Stolen and Boiled Alive

Every year, around one million cats are stolen, trafficked, and slaughtered for the cat meat trade in Vietnam. Many of these animals are beloved family pets, taken from gardens, streets, and even directly from people's homes. Investigators have found cats still wearing collars at trafficking sites, while heartbroken owners search desperately for their missing companions.

The suffering is horrific. Traders cram cats into filthy transport cages and move them across regions and borders. Many endure unimaginable cruelty before death. Some are boiled alive. Others are forced into poultry de-feathering machines or have their fur burned away with blowtorches. The trade fuels immense animal suffering while creating serious risks for public health through the spread of rabies and other dangerous diseases.

AWIP is working to investigate the networks that profit from this cruelty, gather evidence, and drive action to protect cats from theft, trafficking, and slaughter. But we need people like you standing with us.

Add your name now to demand stronger action against the cat meat trade, protect family pets from theft, and help bring an end to this brutal industry.
