A 5-Pound Maltese Puppy Was Hurled Onto the Asphalt Twice and Beaten in Hillsborough County, Florida

In Hillsborough County, Florida, a one-year-old Maltese mix puppy weighing only about five pounds was subjected to a burst of brutal violence that he never had a chance of surviving. A woman grabbed the tiny dog by the scruff of his neck and hurled him onto the hard asphalt, not once but twice, slamming his small body into the ground.

Surveillance cameras captured the horror in full. The footage shows her kicking the puppy and striking his head with open-hand slaps as he tried to endure the assault. At one point the little dog was thrown roughly 22 feet through the air and came to rest about 25 feet away.

The damage to such a fragile body was devastating. The puppy suffered a broken front left leg and was bleeding from his nose from a suspected head wound. He was rushed into emergency veterinary surgery, an operation that would have required amputating his shattered leg just to give him a chance.

It was not enough. After everything that was done to him, the little Maltese did not survive. The woman responsible later admitted the dog was not even hers; he was believed to be a stray, a small lost animal who deserved kindness and instead met cruelty.

Sign now if you agree that what happened to this defenseless puppy was wrong, and that the person responsible should never be allowed to keep or be around animals again.
