On February 8, 2026, deputies and animal control followed a tip to a property on Cecilia Hart Lane in Farmville, North Carolina. What they uncovered there was a scene of unimaginable suffering. Twenty two dogs were on the property, and eight of them were already dead.
A veterinary pathologist later confirmed the grim truth: those eight dogs had died from starvation. Their bodies had wasted away slowly, day after day, as they were left without the food they needed to survive. They died hungry, abandoned, and in agony.
The 14 dogs who were still alive were in very poor health, severely neglected, and clinging to life. Their bodies told the story of prolonged malnutrition and abuse. These animals had been failed in the most basic way, denied even the food and care that every living creature deserves.
Worse still, deputies discovered evidence of dog fighting activity at the property. The signs on these dogs were consistent with a fighting operation, their suffering deliberately inflicted and their bodies treated as disposable. They were forced to endure torture and starvation with no escape.
Sign now if you agree that what happened to these dogs was wrong, and that whoever did this should never be allowed to keep animals again.
